Chris and Alexandria's Intimate Wedding at Five Crowns in Corona Del Mar, California on Digital and 35mm Film

Alexandria and Chris’ June wedding was such a beautiful mix of tradition, joy, and celebration. They started the day with a heartfelt ceremony at their church in Chino, surrounded by the people who matter most. After the “I do’s,” everyone headed down to Corona Del Mar for a reception at Five Crowns — where the night was full of incredible food, cocktails, and so much dancing.

This is the kind of day I love documenting — real moments, real emotion, and all the energy of people coming together to celebrate. My approach is always documentary style, letting things unfold naturally while I quietly observe and capture it all.

Their church ceremony was filled with so much love and meaning. I focused on capturing the small in-between moments — a squeeze of the hand, happy tears, and the look between them as they became husband and wife.

On 35mm film, the ceremony takes on this timeless, nostalgic feel. Film has this way of turning fleeting moments into something that feels both present and eternal. Every frame has texture and warmth that makes it feel like a memory you can hold.

Five Crowns was the perfect backdrop for their reception. The cozy, inviting atmosphere paired with the coastal charm of Corona Del Mar created such a memorable space for celebrating. Guests enjoyed dinner, clinked glasses, and filled the dance floor for a night that never slowed down.

This is where documentary photography really shines — capturing laughter mid-toast, heartfelt embraces, and the little glances between Alexandria and Chris that told their love story as much as the big moments did.

Why Film Photography Matters

Every wedding I document includes 35mm film photography alongside digital coverage. Film brings a unique depth and artistry to a gallery — softening colors, adding richness to emotion, and creating a romantic, nostalgic quality that feels timeless.

Some of my favorite images from Alexandria and Chris’ day were captured on film. There’s something about the way it renders light and movement — raw, imperfectly perfect — that turns fleeting moments into heirlooms.

For couples searching for a Southern California film wedding photographer, it’s important to know that film is always included in all of my main wedding packages. You’ll receive a mix of digital and 35mm film images that blend together to tell the full story of your day with honesty, beauty, and intention.
